The Build Up to the monsoon season in northern Thailand starts in March and April, with thunderstorms and sometimes hail. This evening, we got a bit of both.

How much should a kilogram of rice cost? That’s one of the central questions of our community agriculture project. I’m not asking how much does a kg of rice cost. The question is, how much should it cost.

Permaculture acknowledges a basic life ethic, which recognises the intrinsic worth of every living thing. It strives to take a benevolent approach, restoring habitat and allowing all things their place. The creation of refuge is one way to achieve this aim and increase yield at the same time.
