How much should a kilogram of rice cost? That’s one of the central questions of our community agriculture project. I’m not asking how much does a kg of rice cost. The question is, how much should it cost.

It seems to me that Thailand is ideally situated to develop sustainable, productive and profitable natural farming. The soils and climate are favourable and there is abundant water, delivered through an extensive, well-maintained infrastructure. read more

First Fair Earth Farm community farming “farmshop”
เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ผ่านมา (30 มกราคม 2552) ทาง Fair Earth Farm ได้จัดงาน Organic Farming Farmshop ขึ้นโดยมีทั้งเพื่อนบ้านชาวดอนตัน เพื่อนชาวคะฉิ่น และเพื่อนชาวอเมริกันมาร่วมงานด้วย ซึ่งเราคาดหวังว่านี่จะเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ดีสำหรับการสร้างเครือข่าย CSA ให้เกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอันใกล้นี้…
The Fair Earth team organized a participatory “farmshop” January 30 with the help of friends from Burma’s Kachin State, neighboring Dorn Tarn village, and elsewhere. We learned about planting rice — and planted some — using innovative methods, and also created a few “instant veggie beds.” read more
