We’ll begin harvesting the Fair Earth Farm rice on the 23rd of November, but our neighbor has already started. These days, bigger fields are harvested with combines, but many smaller fields are still harvested by hand – a lot of back-breaking work in the HOT sun. The harvested rice will dry in the field for about a week before being threshed (often by hand).
Here’s a short video from the neighbor’s harvest on the 17th of November.

Nice stuff, Dan. I’m gonna give one of the aunties the camera on Monday while YOU’RE doing the harvesting. Dress you up in veil, too. Show off them skills!
